這首歌的歌名，跟內容完全沒有任何關係， 因為Teenage Wasteland這個字，在歌詞裡出現很多次，所以這首歌的歌名，常被誤會叫Teenage Wasteland。歌裡要表達一種年輕人的困惑，年輕人為了理解生活的意義，可能會戰得全身是傷，也有可能就成為骨灰，但是年輕人在壯烈犧牲前，記得至少談場戀愛。
